Heat sealing is the major technique for forming and closing flexible packages. Packaging operations are forced to become increasingly faster and more reliable which induces even higher demands on materials and process knowledge.
The DTC Hot Tack Tester is a highly sophisticated instrument for the simulation of a packaging process especially in form f́lling machines, under accurately controlled conditions. "Hot Tack" is the strength of a heat seal immediately after sealing while still in a hot condition, i.e. before it has cooled down to ambient temperature and achieved its final strength.
The ́nstrument allows the prediction of strength and quality of heat seals on flexible packaging materials as well as to establish setting parameters for the packaging machines.
Users of this instrument include petrochemical industries producing raw materials for thermoplastics, manufacturers of plastic films for packaging purposes, converter industries producing laminates, coated paper and cardboard, manufacturers of flexible packages, etc.
