The impulse sealing devices are available as options for the Hot Tack testing machines model 52 E/200 and 52 F/200.
There are 2 versions offered: model ISD 162-A without and model ISD 162-B with instrumentation.

Impulse Sealing Devices
Model ISD 162-A consists of two impulse sealing bars, exchangeable against the constant temperature sealing bars supplied with the basic DTC Hot Tack-tester, and a control box with transformer and cables. The control box contains a pulse generator and a high-current, low voltage transformer. The secondary winding of this transformer is connected in series with the sealing bars' copper bands. At the moment when the sealing bars close, the pulse generator is triggered from the control circuits of the Hot Tack-tester via the trig cable.
Picture: Model ISD 162-B
Model ISD 162-B uses a high current/ low voltage transformer as well, however the current through the seal bands is controlled in order to achieve a desired temperature. The temperature of the seal bands is calculated by the measured current flow and applied voltage under consideration of some factors and calibration constants, and the current is controlled so that the desired temperature is achieved.
ISD 162-A
There is no connection foreseen to the Hot Tack-tester's computer in order to acquire data.
However, the trig point for starting the sealing pulse is controlled by the software. It is also possible to write the main parameters as pulse duration and pulse voltage as notes to the screen, so that these values can be printed out together with the Hot Tack values achieved.
ISD 162-B
In addition to the software features described for model 162-A, the program measures also the achieved sealing temperature by sampling with selectable intervals, and calculates the average sealing temperature. Alternatively, the finally achieved sealing temperature can be measured and recorded.
